John's family, The Parks Chamber of Commerce, the City of Loves Park, the Village of Machesney Park, Transform Rockford, Great Neighborhoods, and Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful are working together to launch a new neighborhood engagement initiative.
The first neighborhood in Loves Park will be the Dairy Depot area.
Details will be announced in Spring of 2021 to include plans for new public parks, and meetings to be held with businesses and residents.
We appreciate the generous donations in support of beautification projects in honor of John.
Your donations will help fund one of three new public parks planned for the intersection of N. 2nd Street and River Lane as part of a new neighborhood engagement and beautification initiative.
Details are coming soon to include renderings for the new Memorial Park on the southeast corner of N. 2nd Street and River Lane.
In addition to the beautification and neighborhood engagement initiatives, John's family made improvements to the Dairy Depot commercial building to include new awnings, flower pots, cohesive branding, painting, and garage repairs.
Special thanks to Brad Long and the Northwestern IL Building and Construction Trades for recommending top talent for these projects.
Beautification efforts and improvements at the Dairy Depot also included plumbing, electrical, branding, signage, and an art mural.
In 2021, we look forward to helping lead continued investments in the area to include Public Parks and IDOT requests for new sidewalks, crosswalks, bump outs, and medians.
